Talk Like A Pirate Day/ September 19
The name of my day is “The National Talk Like A Pirate Day”. This national day is set on September 19 every year. When I was in high school I was in Varsity Gold Show Choir and Theater, I felt in being someone that I am not. “Talk Like A Pirate Day” is a perfect example of what this day means. Is simply fun to talk and act like a pirate. According to Lawrence Robinson, Melinda Smith, M.A., Jeanne Seqal, Ph.D., and Jennifer Shubin play is not just for kids. In out hectic, modern lives we need to have adult play to relieve stress. “Talk Like A Pirate Day” gives health benefit too like stress relieve, improve brain function, stimulate the mind and boost creativity, and keeping us young and energetic.

Let’s be honest here, pirates were and are bad people. Therefore, for my design, I want to keep the sinister and up-to-no-good look. Also, instead of putting “The National Talk Like A Pirate Day” on my logo, I am changing it to “Speak Pirate”. With everything on social media having something short and to the point is great to present this day. For my audience, it is range from 15 and older. On Facebook “International Talk Like A Pirate Day” page has about 136, 298 who liked it, who are mostly older folks. Recently this national day has taken off and many states have their own pirate fair. People would dress up like a pirate and have a jolly good time, drinking beer and be social. With the target demographic I set, I feel that I can connect with many people using the logo I have created.

This video was actually inspired by McDonald’s. I want my video to be able to reach different cultures and diversities since we are not the only country that celebrates this day. Also, pirates come from all over the world during history; therefore, I was inspired to translate “Speak Pirate” into different languages. (Made my own music require for class)
